Brazil tops 600 thousand COVID deaths

Brazil reached the mark on October 8.. On Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, in Brasilia, the capital, and in other parts of the country, activities were held in honor of those who died from the disease amid deep criticism of president Jair Bolsonaro's management of the pandemic.

Although infection rates have improved, they are still high compared to other countries in the region. Several blame Bolsonaro's administration for these figures. The latter, when consulted by journalists on this issue recently, asked "not to be disturbed".

Overall, there have been 21.6 million infections in Brazil, making it the country with the third highest number of confirmed cases in the world, behind the United States and India.
