This data comes from the PERE registry of Spanish emigrates, that is put together by Spain's National Statistics Institute, the INE.

The other two countries in the top three are France and the United States.

These figures, picked by Argentine daily Página 12, show that by last January 1, almost 2.8 million Spanish nationals were living abroad, a number that increased 1.7% compared to 2022.

58.7 % of Spanish migrants established residence in the Americas, INE says.

The majority of them chose Argentina: over 477 thousand people, followed by the US, with over 192 thousand.
