The Argentine government has banned the import and sale of electronic cigarettes.

The Ministry of Health justified the decision on the grounds of the health risks this habit poses.

A resolution closes the entry of "vapers" or heated tobacco products, as well as all their accessories and spare parts.

The Ministry argued that research indicates that these devices "produce aerosols containing nicotine and other chemicals harmful to health".
