Pope Francis says he wants to travel to Argentina next year

Pope Francis revealed his intention to travel to Argentina in 2024.

In this way, he would comply with an alleged rule assigned to him by the media of not visiting countries during election years.

It would be the first time he returns to his native country after being appointed Pope in 2013.

In an interview, the Pontiff revealed: "I want to go next year".

Since his designation, Francis has visited several Latin American countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay, among others.

According to what he said recently, he was close to coming to Argentina in 2017, but ended up traveling to Chile and Peru instead.
