May 25 Holiday RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

1.3 million tourists across Argentina

More than 1.3 million people travelled to destinations in the country over the long weekend.

This was reported by the Argentine Tourism Observatory on the occasion of the May 25 holiday, Argentina's main national festivity.

On this occasion, Friday 26th was also a non-working day, in what is known as a "tourist bridge", a measure to encourage domestic tourism.

In this context, Minister of Tourism Matías Lammens highlighted that the movement was record high.

He highlighted the arrival of visitors from neighbouring countries such as Chile, Uruguay and Brazil.

He also pointed out the extra attraction of the Youth World Cup being held in Argentina.

The most visited destinations during the four-day weekend were Salta, Quebrada de Humahuaca, Mendoza, San Carlos de Bariloche and Puerto Iguazú.

Also Merlo, Tandil and Santiago del Estero, where hotel occupancy was over 90%.
