Aerolineas attendant fired for bomb threat

Aerolineas Argentinas fired a flight attendant over a fake bomb threat against a plane.

Daniela Carbone had worked for the flag carrier for 24 years.

On 21 May, she sent an audio message via WhatsApp to Aerolineas staff warning about the presence of explosives on a flight to Miami.

270 passengers and crew had to evacuate the aircraft, which was about to take off from Ezeiza airport causing a delay that cost the company a million dollars in losses.

47-year Carbone remains in custody in connection with the incident and the courts have yet to rule on her case.

According to investigators, the flight attendant was seeking revenge against an ex-boyfriend of hers who was traveling on the plane with his new partner.
