Suspicious case in Uruguay RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Two Argentine provinces hit by horse virus

Several Argentine provinces are on alert due to a highly lethal virus affecting horses, which had been eradicated in the country since 1988.

SENASA, the animal health service, ordered measures to contain an outbreak of Equine Encephalomyelitis in Santa Fe and Corrientes.

Among the actions, the exit of animals from these two jurisdictions to other parts of the country was banned.

The first cases were confirmed on November 25 and in the last hours possible infections were reported in Entre Ríos, Córdoba and even in Uruguay.

This viral disease is transmitted from birds to mosquitoes, the latter infecting horses and even humans.
