River traffic cut since Friday RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Freighter crashes into Paraná bridge

Navigation on the Paraná River remains cut following the impact of a freighter against the Zárate - Brazo Largo bridge.

Liberian-flagged "En May" collided against one of the pillars of the massive structure, and has been stuck there since the weekend.

Argentine Coast Guards informed that it is not yet known when river traffic will be open again.

The En May, which is more than 200 meters long, was coming from Singapore and was heading to the port of San Lorenzo to load grain.

According to the Coast Guards, the vessel suffered a technical malfunction in the rudder, which caused the crash.

The bridge, the most important over the Paraná, did not suffer any major damage and cars and trucks move normally over it.
