According to the UCA University RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Poverty in Argentina is almost 60%

Poverty in Argentina affects almost 60% of the population, some 27 million people.

This is according to the Social Debt Observatory of the Argentine Catholic University, which publishes one of the most recognized indexes.

According to January's measurement, 57.4% of the country’s inhabitants can not cover basic needs of food, housing, health, education and leisure.

Likewise, 15% of the population is destitute, that is, can’t even afford minimum food expenses.

According to the director of the Observatory, Agustín Salvia, these figures could worsen in February due to the 250% annual inflation and the economic recession.

And he pointed out that middle class families have fallen below the poverty line in the last few years.

In this context, President Javier Milei talked about the data and blamed previous governments for the social situation.

"The real inheritance of the caste model: 6 out of 10 Argentines are poor" sentenced the Head of State in the X network.

"Caste", it is worth mentioning, is what Mr Milei calls the traditional political leadership.
