This endorsement helps to address what he described as "irresponsible debt" taken by the administration of his predecessor, Mauricio Macri.

Mr Fernandez expressed his gratitude while speaking on Wednesday at the 3rd Forum of the Silk Belt and Road taking place in the Chinese capital.

"China was a brotherly people that accompanied us in the pandemic" with vaccines and medical supplies, the Argentine Head of State stressed.

He also highlighted that Chinese support "allowed us to face the consequences of a drought that caused us to lose 25 percent of our exports".
