However, according to the same source, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Chile are the exceptions to this trend.

The study states that Argentina "registered the greatest improvement in peace in the region".

According to the organization, the South American country rose from 64th to 54th place in the continent, with one of the lowest homicide rates: 4.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.
