The Argentine government has condemned the organization of a new competition by the United Kingdom for university students to travel to the Malvinas Islands.

In a statement, the Argentine foreign ministry rejected the initiative promoted by the British embassies in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

According to Buenos Aires, the call resorts to a false slogan and uses a wrong name for the archipelago.

In this way, the message continues, London seeks to justify its colonial position on the disputed territory.

In the message, the national government reiterates its willingness to resume negotiations over the sovereignty of the Islands, as demanded by various United Nations resolutions.
