Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay to host 2030 WC opening

South America will partially host the 2030 World Cup, the centennial edition of the Cup, which was held for the first time in Uruguay in 1930.

Conmebol, South America’s top football authority, informed that Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will host the opening matches of the championship.

The rest of the tournament will be played in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) celebrated the news.

On Twitter, the entity highlighted that the National Team will play its first match of the group stage at home and with its people.

It is worth noting that, as host country, the Albiceleste will qualify directly, without qualifying rounds.
