Icebreaker Irizar docks in Ushuaia RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Argentine Antarctic Campaign ends

The ARA Almirante Irizar, icebreaker of the Argentine Navy, arrived at the port of Ushuaia this week.

The ship arrived after crossing the Drake Passage for two days under a storm, coming from the Argentinean base Carlini.

With the arrival in Ushuaia, the Irízar concluded the Antarctic Summer Campaign.

For three months, the icebreaker supplied the 13 stations that Argentina maintains in Antarctica to get them through the winter.

Once the routine tasks in the capital of Tierra del Fuego have been completed, the ship will return to the port of Buenos Aires, its berth for the rest of the year.
