Copa Libertadores RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Boca beats Palmeiras and advances to final

Boca Juniors qualified for the final of the Copa Libertadores de América after beating Palmeiras in Sao Paulo on penalties.

After a 1-1 draw, and following a goalless equalizer in Buenos Aires a week ago, the series was defined with kicks from the spot.

For the third consecutive time in the Cup, Boca advanced thanks to its goalkeeper Sergio Romero, who saved two shots last night.

He had done the same in the round of 16 against Nacional de Montevideo, and in the quarterfinals against Racing.

It is worth mentioning this is the same man who gave Argentina National Team its pass to the 2014 WC final, with two saves in the semis against the Dutch.

Boca will now seek its seventh Libertadores Cup against Brazil's Fluminense.

The final will be played at the mythical Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro on November 4.
