"No pacts with Communists" - Javier Milei RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

China responds Argentine candidate's statements

The Chinese government responded to libertarian candidate Javier Milei, who said he would "cut trade relations with Beijing".

"I don't make pacts with communists," had said the candidate of the La Libertad Avanza party, the most voted in last Sunday's primary elections.

"I don't care that it is the second world power," Milei declared.

The libertarian also claimed that in the Asian country "people are not free and that they kill them if they do what they want".

China's foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, in a contact with the Sputnik news agency, responded to him.

He said: "If Mr Milei were to visit China, he is likely to come to very different conclusions about whether the Chinese people are free or not and whether the country is safe or not”.

Milei also said he would freeze relations with Brazil because its government, led by President Lula, is left-leaning.

The candidate won 30 percent of the vote in the primary elections, and will now compete for the presidency on 22 October.

His main rivals will be the pro-government Sergio Massa and former security minister Patricia Bullrich.
