About his trip to Malvinas RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

FM Mondino complained to UK's Cameron

Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino complained to her British counterpart David Cameron about his recent visit to the Malvinas Islands.

The meeting took place this Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Summit.

According to a statement from the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Mondino and Cameron acknowledged "the existence of a disagreement over the sovereignty of the archipelago".

The communiqué says the Minister vindicated in this context the Argentine rights over Malvinas.

And that she reiterated the will of Buenos Aires to resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner and in line with the mandate of the international community.

Apart from the sovereignty issue, the diplomats agreed on condemning the Russian offensive in Ukraine and in the intention to deepen Buenos Aires-London bilateral bond.

"Putting things in their place", Mondino posted on her X account next to a picture with the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Cameron was in Malvinas on Monday where he expressed his wish that the inhabitants of the islands "will want to be British forever".

His presence in the islands was condemned by several Argentine governors, veterans of the 1982 war and other political leaders.
