"Respect islanders rights" - Milei's potential FM RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Government rejects libertarians Malvinas policy

The government criticized the proposal of a political party on the Malvinas Islands issue.

It is in connection with the statements made by Diana Mondino, who would be the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Javier Milei, the most voted candidate in the August primaries.

Mondino had declared herself in favor of the self-determination of the islanders, in line with the position of the United Kingdom.

She also wondered -in an interview with English newspaper The Telegraph- "why the Malvinas would want to be part of Argentina, with its level of inflation".

And that "many years may pass, but no decision can be imposed on other people, neither on the Argentines nor on anyone else".

Her remarks were rejected by the Secretary for Malvinas Affairs, Guillermo Carmona.
