Hamas liberates six Argentine citizens

Amid the truce with Israel, Hamas released another 11 hostages, including 6 Argentine citizens.

In return, the Israeli government handed over 33 Palestinian prisoners.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry named those released as Karina Engelbert, 50 years old, and her daughters Mika and Yuval Angel, 18 and 10 years old respectively.

Also Sharon Cuño, who is married to an Argentine, and her two daughters: Julie and Emma, both three years old.

All six had been kidnapped by Hamas during the attacks of October 7.

In this context, the Argentine government welcomed the news and highlighted Qatar's role in the negotiations between Israel and the Islamist militia.

In a communiqué, the Foreign Ministry called for the unconditional and immediate release of all hostages still held by Hamas.

It also urged for increased international aid for the civilian population of Gaza affected by the Israeli offensive.
