President Alberto Fernandez demanded Hamas to release the more than 200 people it has been holding hostage since the October 7 attacks in Israel.

He published a press release published in the main Israeli media, in which he asks in particular for "our fellow Argentines" held captive by the Islamist group.

Among the Hamas hostages, it is worth remembering, there are 21 Argentine citizens.

Mr Fernandez reveals in his message that his administration is coordinating efforts with other countries in the region so that the hostages may regain their freedom.

The press release was published in newspapers Israel Hayom, Yediot Ahronot, Jerusalem Post and Haaretz, in English and Hebrew.

The Head of State also warns about "the terrible consequences of the conflict on Palestinian and Israeli women, children and civilians".

For this reason, he calls for "a humanitarian truce to allow the arrival of aid that my country, like so many others, is sending to those affected".
