High-level bilateral meeting on labor issues

Labour officials from Argentina and the US held a high-level meeting in Buenos Aires.

Labour Minister Kelly Olmos headed the encounter, which took place in the framework of the M-Power initiative.

Argentina's Ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, and US Ambassador in BA Marc Stanley took part.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of the US Department of Labor, Thea Lee.

In addition, trade union and business authorities were present, among other personalities.

Olmos stressed in this context: "We are proud to be commemorating 200 years of the relationship between the United States and Argentina, focusing on labor rights".

The first day included a panel on Inclusive Economy, Gender and Diversity and active employment policies, among other activities.

On the second day, the importance of the Tri-part Dialogue between the State, trade unions and companies was discussed.

Lee said in turn: "We are happy to have Argentina among our partners in the multilateral alliance for workers' empowerment and rights".
