At a ceremony in Paris, the Inter Miami player received the award from England's David Beckham.

Messi shared the prize with his teammates of Argentina National Team, with whom he won the World Cup in Qatar.

And he dedicated the Ballon d'Or to the late Diego Maradona, who would have turned 63 yesterday.

In this context, another Argentine, Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez, won the Lev Yashin Award for the best goalkeeper of the year.

Two other members of the Albiceleste were also present at the ceremony: Lautaro Martinez of Inter and Julian Alvarez of Manchester City.
