Milei travels to the US

President-elect Javier Milei left last night for the States to meet with officials of the US government and the IMF.

Sources close to him anticipated that he will showcase his economic plan of fiscal downsizing, state and monetary reform and deregulation.

The libertarian will be in Washington and also in New York, where he will visit the tomb of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

He will be accompanied by the future Chief of Cabinet Nicolás Posse and Luis Caputo, former Minister of Finance during the Mauricio Macri 2015-2019 administration.

Caputo is pointed out as the main candidate to lead the Economy portfolio, although his name has not been formally confirmed yet.

On November 22, Milei won the runoff with 56% of the votes, with a 12-point lead over Peronist Sergio Massa.

The economist will be sworn in on Sunday, December 10, and will succeed outgoing President Alberto Fernández.7
