A victory that touches Argentina RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Napoli crowned Italian champions after 33 years

Napoli has won the Italian championship again for the first time after 33 years, following a 1-1 draw with Udinese yesterday.

The victory touches close to Argentina, since the last time the southern team won the scudetto their captain was Diego Armando Maradona.

In fact, the central celebration in Naples was at the mural dedicated to the late captain of the Argentina national team, who is an icon of the club and the city.

The only Argentine currently playing for the champions is striker Giovanni Simeone.

Speaking to the press, he revealed: "The happiness is immense...the Neapolitan people had been waiting for so many years and deserved this joy".

And he added: "As an Argentine, one feels a special emotion, because Diego is present in all Neapolitans, just as he is with us Argentinians".
