The impact of the pandemic in Argentina RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Nearly 4 million jobs were lost

According to Argentina's National Institute of Statistics (INDEC), over 3.7 million jobs were lost during the second quarter of this year as a result of the pandemic and the restrictions imposed to contain it.

This data also indicated that, among these new unemployed, the sectors most affected were those working independently, and those doing unregistered work, without social benefits.

It was also indicated that women up to 35 years of age were the most affected of the total compared to the male population of the same age group.

INDEC reported that this unemployment rate is also the highest since the second quarter of 2004, when the Argentine economy was still recovering from the deep 2001-2002 crisis.
