New cruise terminal in Ushuaia

Argentina will have a new cruise terminal in Ushuaia.

The General Administration of Ports, AGP, signed an agreement with the Government of the Province of Tierra del Fuego to design, build and operate the project.

The governor of Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella, stated after the signing that the terminal will be "much bigger than the one originally planned".

He also valued the experience of the AGP in the management of the cruise terminal in Buenos Aires.

Melella pointed out: "We are looking for the Port of Ushuaia to be first class for cruise ships, not only recognized for being at the end of the world".

It is worth mentioning that the capital of Tierra del Fuego is an inevitable stop for tourists traveling to Antarctica.

In the current summer season Ushuaia received more than 90 thousand cruise passengers, according to provincial sources.
