Carnival festivities in Argentina RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Tourism hits record figures

According to CAME, the Argentine Confederation of Medium-Sized Companies, some three million people traveled for the long weekend.

Of this total, one million were tourists who spent at least one night away from their homes.

The rest are the so-called "excursionists", who spent just one day at a destination, returning home for the night.

The overall growth was 6.4% compared to the same period in 2022.

In addition, also according to CAME, in 2023 there was an increase in the arrival of foreign visitors.

The same source stated that, on average, each tourist spent 9,600 pesos per day, about 25 dollars.

As expected, the most visited cities were those hosting the most important carnivals in the country: Gualeguaychú, Corrientes, Salta and Jujuy.
